This notice is issued pursuant to art. 122 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 (the Italian Personal Data Protection Code), Directive 2002/58/EC as amended by Directive 2009/136/EC ("ePrivacy"), articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), and the Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools adopted by the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante) with measure no. 231 of 10 June 2021.
1. In short: this site does not use cookies
We prefer to say it straight away and without beating around the bush: the site www.dependancevillanita.com does not install any cookies, either first-party or third-party. We do not use technical session cookies, we do not use analytics cookies, we do not use profiling cookies, we do not use tracking pixels, we do not use device fingerprinting, we do not use web beacons, and we have not installed any statistics tool such as Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or similar.
The site also loads no resource from third-party domains: everything needed to display the pages, including the typefaces, is hosted on our own domain. Full detail is in point 5.
The only piece of information that may be stored on your device is your language preference, saved in the browser's local storage only if you choose to select it, as explained in point 4. This is a strictly technical tool that does not require your consent.
2. What cookies and local storage tools are
Cookies are small text files that visited sites send to the user's browser, where they are stored and then re-transmitted to the same sites on the next visit. They are commonly divided into technical cookies, needed for the site to function or to provide a service explicitly requested by the user, and profiling cookies, aimed at reconstructing a user's habits and preferences in order to send them targeted advertising. Only the latter, and non-necessary cookies in general, require the user's prior, free and informed consent.
Alongside cookies, modern browsers offer other local storage tools, in particular Web Storage in its two forms localStorage and sessionStorage, and IndexedDB databases. Unlike cookies, this data remains on the user's device and is not automatically sent to the server with every request. It is nonetheless subject to the same rules as cookies as regards the obligation to provide notice and, where not strictly necessary, to obtain consent.
3. Cookies used by this site: none
First-party technical cookies: none. The site consists of static pages, requires no authentication, has no shopping cart, has no reserved area and does not manage user sessions.
Analytics cookies: none. We do not collect visit statistics, either directly or through third-party services.
Profiling, marketing and third-party cookies: none. There is no embedded content that installs cookies: no interactive map, no embedded video, no social widget, no externally loaded review system, no advertising network.
As a result, there is no list of cookies to consult and no preference to withdraw.
4. Local storage: the language preference
The site is available in Italian and English. To avoid taking you back to the Italian version every time, when you click the language selector your browser saves your choice in the local storage (localStorage) of your device. Here are the full details:

If you do not use the language selector, nothing is written to your device. If you already have a saved preference and want to remove it, simply follow the instructions in point 7, or select a different language, which overwrites the value.
5. No resources loaded from third-party domains
When a page opens, your browser connects only to the domain www.dependancevillanita.com. Style sheets, scripts, images and typefaces are all hosted on that same domain.
The typefaces Cormorant Garamond, EB Garamond and Jost are installed on our server as woff2 files and called by the site's style sheet through @font-face rules. They are not fetched from Google Fonts: the pages do not contact the domains fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, nor any other external distribution network.
It follows that, while browsing the site, your IP address is not communicated to any third-party provider. The only external party that processes technical data at this stage is the hosting provider, which acts as data processor on our behalf: full detail is in points 4.1, 8 and 9 of the Privacy Policy.
No third-party content is embedded in the pages: no interactive map, no video, no social widget, no external review system, no advertising network, no statistics tool.
6. Links to external services
On the site you will find some links that lead away from www.dependancevillanita.com. These are not embedded content: none of them loads anything until you click.
WhatsApp (domain wa.me, WhatsApp Ireland Limited, Meta group) — the "Message us on WhatsApp" buttons open a conversation with the property. Once the service is opened, WhatsApp/Meta's privacy notice and cookie policy apply.
Google Maps — the "Get directions on Google Maps" link opens Google's navigation service in a new tab. No map is embedded in our pages, so no Google cookie is installed while simply browsing the site.
Airbnb (Airbnb Ireland UC) — the “Read all the reviews on Airbnb” link opens the property’s listing on the platform in a new tab. No Airbnb content is embedded in our pages: the platform’s cookies and trackers only come into play after you click, on the Airbnb site.
Phone and email — the tel: and mailto: links open the phone app or mail client on your device, without transmitting any data to the site.
We recommend reviewing the respective providers' privacy notices: the controller has no control over cookies and trackers installed by third-party sites and services.
7. How to clear local storage data and cookies from your browser
Even though this site does not install cookies, you can delete your language preference and any other data stored by the sites you visit at any time. Below are the steps for the most common browsers; menu items may vary slightly depending on the version.
Google Chrome (computer). Menu ⋮ → Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data; alternatively, to act only on our site: Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data → See all site data and permissions → search for www.dependancevillanita.com → Delete.
Mozilla Firefox. Menu ☰ → Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data section → Manage Data…, then select the site and remove it, or Clear Data… to remove everything.
Safari (macOS). Safari menu → Settings → Privacy tab → Manage Website Data… → select the site and click Remove.
Safari (iPhone and iPad). Settings app → Apps → Safari → Advanced → Website Data → remove the desired site; to clear everything: Safari → Clear History and Website Data.
Microsoft Edge. Menu … → Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data → See all cookies and site data → search for the site and delete it.
Google Chrome (Android). Menu ⋮ → Settings → Site settings → Storage data → select the site → Delete.
You can also browse in private or incognito mode: in that case, local storage data is automatically deleted when the window is closed. Remember that clearing this data means the site will forget the language you had chosen.
8. Why there is no consent banner
The Guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante) of 10 June 2021 and art. 122 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 require the user's consent to be obtained only for storing information, or accessing information already stored on the device, that is not strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user.
This site installs no cookies of any kind, and the only piece of information saved on the device — the language preference described in point 4 — falls squarely among the strictly necessary tools, because it serves solely to provide, in the language requested, a service the user actively asked for by clicking the selector.
Showing a consent banner in the absence of processing that requires it would add no protection: it would merely be an obstacle to browsing and a request for consent with no actual purpose, contrary to the principle of fairness and transparency in art. 5 of the GDPR. This is why we have chosen not to include one, and instead to explain to you, on this page, exactly what happens.

Should we in future introduce tools involving the use of cookies or other trackers — for example a statistics system, an embedded map or a booking engine — we will update this page beforehand and, where necessary, activate a banner to collect consent before installing any non-necessary tool. The version in force is always the one published at this address, with the date of last update shown at the top.
